Adding, Viewing, and Modifying Notes on Saved Transactions

From the POS window, you can enter notes and attach them to any type of saved transaction. You can also view and/or modify existing notes. Notes are view-only; they do not print, they are archived with the invoice in QuickRecall.

Note:  From the Purchasing and Receiving window, you can add, view, and modify notes on special order items that have been placed on a PO. Click here for more information.

Adding, Viewing, Modifying Notes on Saved Transactions in POS

  1.  Display the saved transaction.

  2. Click Menu. A dialog box displays.

  3. Click Enter Document Notes or Delivery Instructions. The Notes dialog box displays.

  1. Add a note by typing in your message.  If a note already exists, you can simply view it, or modify it by typing a new note (or add on to the note that is already displayed).

  2. Click OK to save the note and close the dialog box.

  3. Proceed with the transaction as you normally would.

Tip

You can also access the Notes dialog box from the POS Open Document Detail viewer.

"Adding, Viewing, and Modifying Notes on Saved Transactions" archives the note into the invoice archive once the order has been fully invoiced. Previously, once the order (or special order) was fully invoiced you could no longer refer back to the note -- it was removed from the system. Starting with release 25, the note will be archived and is viewable when you display an invoice created from the Order. The note is viewable using Misc Menu ‘View POS Order/Delivery Notes’ in QuickRecall, in the Invoiced Orders/Special Orders Viewer, and in the Document Archive Viewer.
