Selling Substitute Items

Use the following procedure to sell a substitute item when a particular item is not available.  The procedure assumes you've set up one or more of your items with a list of substitute items that are associated with them.  If you have not, click here for the setup procedure.

  1. In POS, type the SKU or scan the item.

  2. Click Menu, and click X-Show Alternates.  The Substitute Items dialog box displays.

  1. Select the appropriate substitute item from the list, and click OK.  The item displays in the bottom of the POS screen.

  2. Make any necessary changes to the displayed item information, and press ENTER.  

  3. Proceed as you normally would to complete the transaction.
