Pharmacy Interface: Safety Cap and Consult Signatures

Pharmacies are required to ask customers if they want safety caps or if they want to consult the pharmacist about their prescription. Depending on how options 9185 "Pharmacy Capture Safety Cap Signature" and 9187 "Pharmacy Capture for Pharmacist Consult Signature" are set, the pharmacy management system (PMS) interface informs the Eagle if a signature is required. If a signature is required, the receipt will be marked with the appropriate message “Safety Caps Refused” or "Safety Caps Accepted," or "Counseling Refused" or "Counseling Accepted."

Once the PMS knows how the customer answered these questions for a particular prescription, the customer will not be asked again. The Eagle system sends collected signature acknowledgements to the PMS.
