Set Up System Option

To use Health Benefit Cards, the following system option must be enabled on your system.

• ID# 1088 "Health Benefit Cards on System"

Set Up Application Option

Set up the following application option that is related to Health Benefit Cards.

• ID# 9135 "Use Code Position to identify Health Benefit card ItemsEnter the position of the User Code you will use to identify Health Benefit Card items. The User Code identified by this option should be set to one of the following values:
  * Set to H for qualified health care items
  * Set to R for RX prescription items

Set Up Alternate Tender

Set up an Alternate Tender type in Options Configuration for proper handling of Health Benefit Cards. You must select "Health Benefit" as the tender type. For more information on setting up Alternate Tender, click here.
