Terms and Definitions

There are several terms associated with Archive Manager that you need to be familiar with before you start using the application. They are:

Purge – With regard to Archive Manager, purge means delete or remove. When we talk about purging data from the Eagle, we mean that we are deleting the archived data from the Eagle server.

PAD – PAD stands for Portable Archive Directory. The Eagle for Windows system collects all of the data you’ ve selected to purge from the system and puts it into a special "packet” that’s ready to download onto your PC, which will eventually be deleted from the Eagle. This collection of data is called a PAD.

PAD Download Folder – The folder that stores the purged archive data from the Eagle.

Local PAD Folder – The folder in which the purged archives reside on the local PC.

Global Pad Folder – The shared folder in which the purged archives reside so that other PCs can access them.
