Document Imaging provides you with "virtual document" archiving and printing, as well as signature capture. Signature Capture is optional, and requires one or more signature capture devices. You may also choose to purchase only the Electronic Journal rather than the full Document Imaging package. The components of the Document Imaging package include the following:
Electronic Journal Application. The Electronic Journal is a virtual receipt file that contains an exact copy of the receipts printed by the receipt printer. The Electronic Journal can be viewed/printed by terminal number and date. If you purchased just the Electronic Journal rather than the "full" Document Imaging application, the remainder of the list below does not apply.
Electronic Signature Capture (if you've purchased a signature capture device). Signatures are electronically captured during POS and Offline POS, on both sale and credit transactions, whenever transactions are tendered by bankcard or in-store charge. The customer signs their name on an electronic signature capture pad that connects to the POS station. This electronic signature becomes a part of the transaction in the Document Imaging archive file.
Online/Offline POS Transaction Archive Storage. Archived images are stored on the Epicor Eagle™ server in a receipt and/or invoice format. The following printed transactions are stored in the Document Imaging Archive file: Sales, Credits, Orders, Special Orders, Estimates, Inter-store Transfers, Layaways, and ROAs (payments received on account).
Document Archive Viewer. This application, available from the Eagle Browser/System Management menu, allows you to view and reprint archived Epicor Eagle™ POS for Windows transactions. (Document Scanning users can also view scanned documents in this viewer.) You can also access the document archive via Business Advisor, the QuickRecall window, the Customer Maintenance window, and the Purchasing and Receiving window.
When you print Accounts Receivable collated invoices with your statements, they'll include the invoices' electronically captured signatures (if you've purchased a signature capture device).
Epson TM-J7100 inkjet receipt printer support, allowing you to print electronically-captured signatures and bitmap images on receipts if you purchase this receipt printer.
The Document Imaging feature is not available for the ISC operating system.
