(ID# 3517) Use this A/R option in Options Configuration if you want to use wildcard searches for A/R accounts. When this option is set to Yes, wildcard name and phone number searching is enabled in the Customer and Job boxes.
To use this feature, you must run the Aging Report (RAG) with update option K– "Create Customer Combo Lookup Information" frequently, as it generates the information needed to do this search.
To use this feature in POS or Customer Maintenance, enter a semi-colon (;) followed by the characters to match in the name (";WEST" fill find WESTERN and NORTHWEST) or a dash (-) followed by the digits to match in the phone number ("-456" matches 123-4567 and 444-5678). Note that new customers or name or phone number changes aren't reflected until the next RAG option K runs.
When this option is set to Yes, the wildcard name and phone number searching is also enabled in the Job field. This search will only be on the jobs for the main account that has been entered – it is not a search on jobs across all accounts. Note: you must have option 910 "Show Job List at POS" set to Yes.
See related option 3516 "Include lookup by email addresses in customer.” When 3516 is set to Yes, you can enter an at-sign (@) followed by the first characters of the customer’s email address to find the customer account.
