This topic applies to Terminal-Based Security. Use the following procedure if you want to remove (subtract) specific capabilities from a user.
In the Terminal box, enter the terminal at which you want to subtract capabilities from a user, or enter ALL if you want to subtract capabilities from a user at all terminals (except terminal 1. If you enter ALL in the Terminal box, terminal 1 is not affected. You will have to repeat the steps in this procedure for terminal 1).
In the Store box, leave the default of 1.
Multistore: Enter the store at which you want to subtract capabilities from a user, or enter ALL if you want to subtract capabilities from a user at all stores.
In the User box, enter the user's name or select one from the drop-down list.
Note: You can select ALL If you want to subtract capabilities from all users.
Select the capabilities (also referred to as "bit numbers") that you want to subtract from the user by doing one of the following:
In the grid, click the word Yes (this changes Yes to No) in the Authorized column of the capability you want to subtract. Repeat this process for all capabilities you want to subtract.
Click Misc, then click Subtract a Security Capability. In the Subtract Security Capability dialog box, enter the bit number that corresponds to the capability you want to subtract from the user(s). Then click OK. Repeat this process for each capability you want to subtract (this method works well only if you know the bit numbers associated with the capabilities you want to subtract).
Click Change.
