The Eagle Import Tool automates the EGLU application, which is the interface between the Eagle General Ledger applications and Paylocity general ledger data. Paylocity is the Ace-endorsed payroll service.
Paylocity sends a file containing your GL transactions to a specific directory on your PC using FTP (internet) communications. Then, the Eagle Import Tool automatically checks the EGLU directory, and when the new file is detected, the system runs EGLU. This process writes the payroll journal entries to the General Journal Transaction window (GGMU).
To use the Paylocity EGLU interface, you'll need to specify information like payroll frequency and file location which are explained here. However, before you start setting up the information, there are several things you need to know.
The Eagle Import Tool must be installed on the same PC where you run Paylocity.
Paylocity sends the GL transactions to a specific directory on the PC you designate for this purpose.
There are two options that must be set.
An Epicor representative must set the MSY option ’EGLU Electronic GL Update’ (ID# 1076) to Yes.
You must set option 8283 ’Format to use for EGLU’ to 1.
