This field is in the Category Pricing Plans and Rebate Plans window. It indicates the pricing method for the category. You can enter a category method (see the list below), or double-click this field to display a list of Methods from which you can select one.
Note: The formulas the system uses for pricing methods that require either a markup or markdown calculation are:
Markup = price + (price * (CPP or Rebate markup percent / 100))
Markdown = price – (price * (CPP or Rebate markdown percent / 100))
A = Percent markup from average cost. Method A calculates the price from the average cost regardless of how the Inventory option "Cost Used in Calculations" is set in Options Configuration, regardless of whether or not a manual cost is entered at POS, and regardless of the POS Order Indicator used on orders, estimates, and special orders.
B = Percent markup from replacement cost. This method always calculates the price from the replacement cost, regardless of how the Inventory option "Cost Used in Calculations" is set in Options Configuration, regardless of whether or not a manual cost is entered at POS, and regardless of the POS Order Indicator used on orders, estimates, and special orders.
C = Cost
D = Percent markdown from retail
E = Percent markup from price matrix 1
F = Percent markup from price matrix 2
G = Gross margin percent.
When you select this method, you must enter a Price Code in the dialog box that displays, so that the system knows which price to use in the calculation. Choices are:
MIC Cost Used in Calculations
Price Matrix (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5)
Average Cost
Replacement Cost
Greater of Average Cost or Replacement Cost
Market Cost
List Price
Retail Price
H = Percent markup from price matrix 3
I = Percent markup from price matrix 4
J = Percent markup from price matrix 5
K = Percent markdown from replacement cost
L = List price
M = Percent markup from the cost indicated by the Cost Used In Calculations field in Options Configuration (or MIC). The cost used to calculate the price is derived from either a manual cost override (as long as it's input before display), the POS header indicator, or the "Cost Used in Calculations" default from Options Configuration. The system looks for a manual override first. If one was not input, then the system looks for a POS Cost Indicator. If a POS indicator was not input, the system uses the default from the "Cost Used in Calculations" option.
N = Percent markdown from price matrix 1
O = Percent markdown from price matrix 2
P = Percent markdown from price matrix 3
Q = Percent markdown from price matrix 4
R = Retail
S = Percent markdown from price matrix 5
T = Dollar markup from average cost. This method works the same as method A (see above) in calculating the price, only it uses a dollar amount rather than a percent.
U = Dollar markup from replacement cost. This method works the same as type B (see above) in calculating the price, except that it uses a dollar amount rather than a percent.
V = Dollar markup from MIC cost used in calculations. This method follows the same principal as method M (see above), using either the manually-entered cost, or the POS Price Indicator, or the "Cost Used in Calculations" option in Options Configuration.
W = Percent markup from retail
X = Percent markdown from list
Y = Dollar markdown from retail
Z = Dollar markdown from list
n = Dollar markdown from Price matrix 1
o = Dollar markdown from Price matrix 2
p = Dollar markdown from Price matrix 3
q = Dollar markdown from Price matrix 4
s = Dollar markdown from Price matrix 5
k = Dollar markdown from Replacement Cost
1-5 = Matrix prices 1 to 5
* = User defined price. If you use this pricing method, you must fill in the Price field.
Note: Epicor recommends that if you use the user defined pricing method, you link it to individual SKU Part s (the method field is * and the Type field is SKU Part ).
