Style-Color-Size: Set Up Options

System Option

To use Style-Color-Size, the following system option must be enabled on your system.

ID# 1301 "Style-Color-Size (SCS) on System?" This option must be set to Yes by Epicor licensing.

Application Options

Set up the following application options that are related to the Style-Color-Size feature.

Note: In Options Configuration, you can display all the relevant options by selecting ATTRIBUTES in the Subsystem box.

B = Print item attributes on both receipts and invoices

This option is for SCS or GAT users only (option 1301 or 1302 is set to Yes). This option determines on which document types "Point of Sale Attribute Comments" print at POS. These comments have three customizable layers:
1. Every attribute value has a user-definable "Contributed comment" field, which determines the value that will be printed. The value of this field can be changed through Attribute Value Maintenance. Note that this same value is also used by the PO comment and the Label comment.
2. Which attribute's contributed comment values print and how they are sorted and formatted is determined by the Point of Sale Comment field which can be changed* through the GoTo menu of Options Configuration using choice P-Maintain Product Group.
3. This option determines where the Point of Sale Comments print at POS--on documents, receipts, both documents and receipts, or not at all. The point of sale comment will print as a descriptor line below each item that has attributes. It will not wrap around; if the receipt or document will not have enough character positions to fit the descriptor, it will be cut off.

This option allows you to determine if the default description can be reformatted when adding a new item.

If this option is set to Yes, when adding style members in Inventory Maintenance, you can manipulate how the item description is created for style members in the dialog box that displays. This means you can change the Description Pattern which defaults to the pattern defined in option 9608.

If this field is set to No, you will not see a prompt for the Description Pattern and the pattern defined in this option (9608) is always used when adding style members.

This option defines the description pattern that is used to create the item description of style members added in the "Add Members to Style" dialog in Inventory Maintenance. If Option 9607 "Prompt for Description pattern when adding style members" is set to Yes, it is the default for the Description Pattern field. If option 9607 is set to No, this pattern is always used when adding style members.

Enter a pattern using any of the following components in any order:
- %DESC% = Style item's description
- {A1} = Description contributor for the item's color
- {A2} = Description contributor for the item's size
Below are some examples of different patterns. The second column shows what the Style member's description will be when adding members for a Style Item that has the description "Polo Shirt" and two attributes, Color and Size.

The default value for this option is "%DESC% {A1} {A2}.

Note: Eagle item descriptions have a maximum of 32 characters. Any characters in excess of this limit will be automatically cut off of the member description.

When adding style members in Inventory Maintenance using the "Add Members to Style" dialog, this option determines how the item number of the member(s) are created.

If this option is set to No, the style member's item number is created by adding 0001, 0002, 0003, etc. to the end of the style item SKU. For example, instead of adding an SKU like “12345678RDXL,” the SKU would be “123456780001.” With this method, you can use Style SKUs that are up to 10 characters without running into the 14 character limit.

If this option is set to Yes, the system creates the style member's item number by adding the Contributed Item Number of the member's attributes to the style item SKU.

In addition to these ATTRIBUTE options, you must also set option 8287 "Display the Inventory Viewer in expanded format?" to S--Flexible Attributes/SCS.
