Eagle Alerts is an online log for events in Epicor Eagle™ and Epicor Eagle™ for Windows (not available with the ISC operating system). When an alert is detected by a program, a new alert is created. Alerts notify you about standard system issues such as Backup Failed, Credit Card Settlement Failed, and Offline Upload Failed. You can also set up custom alerts and reminders. There are supporting applications to let you view any or all alerts. If you have iNet Connect then you can also receive E-mail notification when an alert occurs. Eagle Alerts is composed of the following functions:
The Alert Viewer, which displays current and historical alerts
The Eagle Browser Current Alerts Page, which displays the signed-on user’s current alerts.
Alert Notification--When a new alert is received, the taskbar icon for the Alerts Viewer flashes, and a sound is heard to warn you of the alert
Alert User Profile--A window that is used to designate which users receive a particular alert.
The Epicor Eagle system has a new training mode available that uses a copy of your actual data and provides full application functionality. A customer services representative must activate the new training mode. You will then use the Osprey function TRAINCF (which quiets the system) to install the new training mode. The old "Training Universe" database will no longer be available once the new training mode is activated.
The FAX application now allows you to import a file from the Eagle Editor and have the contents print in the Memo section of the FAX prepage. Prior to this change, this capability was only available in the "classic" Epicor Eagle system. Eagle for Windows does not have a dropdown window that displays the names of the current Editor files; rather, you must enter the appropriate file name.
This new release will support Timeclock Plus 4.0. In addition, the Clockin/Clockout feature will now be available in Eagle for Windows.
A new dot matrix network printer option is available for use on all PC Operating Systems. As Microsoft has released new Operating Systems like Windows 2000 and Windows XP, the standard Generic/Text driver that was used for Eagle networked dot matrix printers no longer works properly (it caused missing or misaligned columns). This new option, Eagle report printing print mode, located in Options Configuration/System options, has two selections, D-Direct (Win NT, W2K, XP) and S-Standard (Win 95, 98, ME). The default value is set to S. If you have Eagle networked dot matrix printers connected to PC's running on Windows NT, W2K or XP and are having problems with reports missing columns or misaligning columns, then set this option to D. Setting this option to D should correct the missing columns or misaligning column issues. Only change this option if you are encountering the issues mentioned above.
The following new security bits are now available:
Bit 39-Allow Orders In POS. This security bit is now operational. Prior to this level, this security bit did not work. Bit 76, Allow Orders, Special Orders and Quotes In POS, controls access to all of the transaction types. Bit 39 now works in conjunction with bit 76. To create orders, the user must have both 39 and 76 enabled. If bit 39 is disabled, the user cannot create Orders but will still be able to create Special Orders and Quotes.
Bit 659— allows you to access the Electronic Journal
Bit 662— allows you access to the Alert User Profile Setup window
Bit 663— allows you to see all Alerts for all users
Bit 664— allows you to Purge Documents In ROO. This bit applies to ROO, Option S, Purge Suspended Transactions, Option X, Purge Deleted Expired Transactions, and Option Y, Purge Deleted Or Completed Transfers.
Bit 667— allows you to change an estimate to an order or special order
Bit 668--allows you to specify the Electronic Journal date and terminal you want to view (assuming you also have bit 659 to access the Electronic Journal). Without this bit, you can only view today's electronic journal for your terminal only.
Bit 669— allows you to activate a Gift/Cash Card in WinPOS
Bit 670— allows you to change Terms, Tax, Salesperson and Resale # in POS
Bit 671— allows you to access the "Maintain Customer SKUs (MCS)" option from the GoTo menu of Inventory Maintenance. Without this bit, Option X won't display.
