How to Spool Reports

Spooling a report allows you to view the report on the screen and optionally print it. Spooled reports are stored on the system for at least 5 days (click here for a detailed explanation). Use the following procedure to spool a report.

  1. Using the Reports menu on the Eagle Browser, display a report window the same way you would if you were going to print a report.

  2. In the Print To field, select S to spool the report, or if you want to spool and print the report, select A.

  3. In the Channel Number field, you'd typically leave the default of 91, unless you have cause to use a different spooler channel.  Keep in mind that if you're adding a report to a queue, all the reports in the queue should have the same spooler channel.

  4. Fill in the rest of the report window as you desire, and press Run, or click if you are adding the report to a queue.  For more information about creating queues, click here.

Keep in mind that spooling is exactly like printing in the sense that any options you choose--especially any options that may update your files--take effect the same way they do as when you print a report.

Wait for the report to finish processing before you attempt to view the spooled report. To check if the report has finished processing, display the Report Queue Maintenance window. If the report you spooled displays in this window, it is still processing (Note:  click Refresh to update the screen).  If it does not display, it has finished processing, and you can proceed with viewing the report.
