Entering Lot Information

(Lot Tracking users only)

By setting up Lots, you can sell and track the sales of products based on groupings or "lots." For example, items such as wallpaper, carpeting, and fabric are often tracked by lot. Lots are usually marked with certain identifying traits that you want to track, such as Lot Number, PO Number, Date Received, and the Vendor from which the product was purchased.  When you ring up a Lot item at POS, a list of its lots automatically displays for your selection. From the Inventory Maintenance window, you can add, modify, or delete the lot(s) associated with an item.

Click one of the following to take you to the procedure steps:

Adding Lots

  1. From the Inventory Maintenance window, display the item to which you want to add a lot.

  2. Click the Codes tab. Note: Alternatively, you can press <Cntl>3.

  3. In the Lot Item? field, enter Y, and then click Change.

  4. Click Misc, then click Maintain Lot Tracking Codes.  The Lot Tracking Maintenance window displays.

  5. Fill in the fields.  For a definition of each field, click here.

  6. Click Add.

  7. Do one of the following:

Modifying Lots

  1. From the I nventory Maintenance window, display the item for which you want to modify a lot.

  2. Click Misc, then click Maintain Lot Tracking Codes. The Lot Tracking Maintenance window displays.

  3. Click the arrow to the right of the Lot Name box, and select the lot you want to modify from the drop-down list.

  4. Modify the appropriate fields. For a definition of each field, click here.

  5. Click Change.

  6. Click Close to close the window.

Deleting Lots

  1. From the Inventory Maintenance window, display the item.

  2. Click Misc, then click Maintain Lot Tracking Codes. The Lot Tracking Maintenance window displays.

  3. Click the arrow to the right of the Lot Name box, and select the lot you want to delete from the drop-down list.

  4. Click Delete.

  5. Click Yes to confirm your selection.

  6. Click Close to close the window.
