Running a Custom SKU Conversion
Always have a current backup available before running Change Item SKU Number (RCIN).
This procedure explains how to use RCIN to
prefix existing SKUs with a character in order to change the SKUs
run a SKU conversion using a file that contains the old and new SKU (usually an Epicor representative assists you with this process)
RCIN for Windows is "batch" based, meaning that you add a list of old/new SKUs to a batch. You also display the pending old/new SKUs by batch, and you Finalize by batch.

If you are prefixing old SKUs, do the following:
Set the "Method to Use" to P (Prefix).
Use the ![]()
page to define your prefix and to select any other desired options.
Use the ![]()
page to enter the range of items to which you want to add the prefix.
Click Run (F4) to process the prefixing.
If you are doing a SKU conversion (typically with the help of an Epicor representative), do the following:
Set the "Method to Use" to C (Custom)
Use the ![]()
page to enter the appropriate Options, Item Change Vendor, and New
Item Vendor, as instructed by your Epicor representative.
Click Run (F4) to process the SKU conversion.
Tip: You can also use RCIN to change an item's SKU number or to combine two SKUs.
