Once you have entered an invoice into the New A/P Transactions window, you may find that you need to modify it. Follow the steps below to modify an unposted Accounts Payable transaction.
If you need to modify a posted transaction, click here for the procedure.
Display the transaction you want to modify.
Click on any field you want to change.
Type the new value, and press ENTER to recalculate any dependent fields.
To avoid the recalculation of the dependent fields, use the Tab key instead of Enter. For example, if you want to change the Invoice Amount but don't want the Discount Amount recalculated, enter the new invoice amount and press Tab instead of Enter.
Click Change.
If you want to change distributions, click on the Distribution tab.
If you want to delete a distribution, click the box to the left of it, click Delete, then click Yes.
If you want to change a distribution amount, click on it (so the amount is highlighted in blue), enter the new amount, and press ENTER. Change any other distribution amounts as desired. Click Change.
If you want to add a distribution amount, click Add, fill in the Add Distribution dialog box with the new distribution information, and click OK.
Be sure that the Amount Remaining to Distribute at the bottom of the screen is .00 (zero) when you are finished changing distributions.
