Use the following procedure if you need to void checks. Depending upon whether you have posted the checks, click one of the following to take you to the procedure steps:
In the Bank Code box, enter the correct bank code if it is different from the bank code displayed.
Click Void. The Void Posted Checks dialog box displays.
In the Check No box, enter the check number of the check you want to void.
Note: If more than one check with the same check number and Bank Code exists, you will be requested to enter the Check Date in addition to the check number.
In the Void Date box, leave the default of today's date, or enter a void date.
Click OK. The check displays in a grid. A separate entry displays for each invoice that was originally paid by the check. These invoices will be made payable again when you run the Post Void Check Transactions to A/P Files Report.
Repeat steps 3 through 6 if you need to void other checks.
Run the Print Void Posted Checks report to check your work.
If you inadvertently voided a check that should not be voided, do the following to clear the void:
In the grid, click the check that you do not want voided so that its row is highlighted.
Click Delete. A dialog box displays, asking you if you're sure you want to delete the void.
Click Yes.
If more than one invoice was paid with this check, a warning displays. Click Yes to confirm your selection.
Once you are satisfied with your work, post the transactions by running the Post Void Check Transactions to A/P report.
Click Go To.
If you want to void checks, click Void Unposted Checks. If you want to void checks used for form alignment, click Void Form Alignment Checks.
In the dialog box that displays, enter the requested information in the blank boxes.
Click OK. A confirmation message displays.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 if you have another check to void, or click Cancel to close the dialog box.
The checks you void appear as voided checks on the Post Checks and Print Check Register Report.
