Setting Up A/R Special Charges Descriptions

Use Options Configuration to set up descriptions for the special charges you assess on designated customer accounts. There are three options in which you can set up these descriptions.

  1. Display the Options Configuration window.

  2. Click ID, enter 8371 in the Option ID field, and press Enter. Enter the description for Special Charge 1, up to 30 characters.

The description you enter will replace the generic description in the "Special Charge 1" field, which is accessible from the Credit tab of Customer Maintenance when you click the Special Charges hyperlink. The description is also used as the document's description when RAG with Update Option S "Calculate Special Charges" is run to create the special charges; therefore, the description also prints on the customer's statement.

  1. If you want to set up more types of special charges, repeat the procedure in step 2 to set up option 8372 ("Special Charge #2 Description") and/or option 8373 ("Special Charge #3 Description").

  2. Click Change on the toolbar to save your changes.
