Printing Bill of Materials/Finished Goods Information

Two options are available in the Open Order Report (ROO) to help you better manage your Bill of Materials orders: option K, "Print Millwork/BOM sorted/subtotaled by components," and option F, "Print Finished Goods change to inventory values." These two options are mutually exclusive and therefore cannot be selected together on the same report. They also cannot be selected with any other ROO options.  Below is a description of each option.

With option K, the ROO only prints Bill of Material components in the body of the report.  Non-Bill of Material SKUs and Bill of Material Header SKU’s do not print.  Multiple occurrences of a SKU on the same order will be combined onto a single line with a total quantity.  Items will print in SKU order.

With option F, the ROO prints a shop order, but only includes items marked as finished goods (small "f" in the Codes field), not items marked as posted (indicated by a large "F" in the Codes field).  For more information about "f" versus "F," see the topic "Marking a Finished Goods Item "Built."

The following fields are included in the totals section of the ROO when you select option "F" :

Current on-hand cost value
--the current quantity on hand time current cost (replacement cost or average cost, depending on how the option "Cost Used in Calculations" is set in Options Configuration).  This figure is comprised of 1) the sum the current on-hand cost value of all BOM components' (appearing on the report), and 2) the sum of all Finished Goods SKUs' current on hand cost values.

Current on-hand retail value
--the current quantity on hand times retail price.  This figure is comprised of 1)the sum of all BOM components' on hand retail values, and 2) the sum of all Finished Goods SKUs' current on hand retail values

New on-hand cost value
--the new quantity on hand (i.e. the quantities that items will be adjusted to after the Finished Goods posting occurs) times the new cost.  The new cost value reflects the updated item cost after the finished item has been posted. This figure is comprised of 1) the sum of all BOM components' new on-hand cost values, and 2) the sum of all Finished Goods SKUs' new on-hand cost values.  The new quantity on hand and costs are based on the changes that will occur to the current inventory records based on the yet to occur posting of finished items.

New on-hand retail value
--the new quantity on hand (i.e. the quantities that items will be adjusted to after the Finished Goods posting occurs) times retail price.  This figure is comprised of 1) the sum of all BOM components' new on-hand retail values, and 2) the sum of all Finished Goods SKUs' new on-hand retail values. The new quantity on hand and retail prices are based on the changes that will occur (but haven't yet) to the current inventory records.
