Price Matrix: Code the Customer Accounts

Once you have defined your customer groups (click here if you haven't), defined the product codes in the Price Matrix Maintenance window (click here if you haven't), coded the items in Inventory Maintenance (click here if you haven't), and calculated the matrix prices (click here if your haven't), the last thing to do is code the customer accounts.

Use the Std Sell Price field in Customer Maintenance (found on the Main tab) to indicate the matrix price that applies to the account. Once the account is coded, the matrix price is available to the customer at POS.

You can update the Std Sell Price field one customer at a time in Customer Maintenance. Or, you can update a range of customers using the Customer Code Update function (RCCU).

Once you've coded the customer accounts, you have completed all the things you need to do to set up matrix pricing. Click here for a list of all the things that must be completed.

Coding Individual Accounts In Customer Maintenance (MCR)

Use this procedure to code accounts one at a time in Customer Maintenance.

  1. Display the Customer Maintenance window.

  2. Display the customer.

  3. At Std Sell Price, click the down-arrow. From the list that displays, select the appropriate matrix price.

  4. Click Change.

  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each customer account you need to code.

Coding a Range of Accounts

Use the Customer Code Update function (RCCU) to update the Std Sell Price field in Customer Maintenance for a range of customers.

RCCU is a powerful function. You can use it to quickly and easily, and sometimes incorrectly, update fields in Customer Maintenance for a range of customers. Before using RCCU, make sure you have a current backup available before you make changes to your Customer file using RCCU.

  1. From Network Access at the Function prompt, type RCCU and press <Enter>.

  2. In the parentheses to the left of Std Sell Price, type an X and press <Enter>.

  3. At Std Sell Price, type the matrix price that you want to assign to the range of items. Type 1 for matrix price 1, type 2 for matrix price 2, etc.

  4. Press <Run> to display the From / To screen. Specify the Printer options.

  5. Enter the From / To range for the customers you want to update. All customers in the range you specify will be updated.

  6. Press <Run>. The report processes and the product code field is updated for the range of customers you specified.
