Setting Up Pre-Defined Comments in POS

Use the following procedure to set up pre-defined comments or special instructions that you can select during PO posting using the F3 (Comment) button.

  1. Display the Options Configuration window.
  2. Click Misc, then click Maintain POS & PO Pre-Defined Comments. In the dialog that displays, click Maintain POS Pre-Defined Comments.

  1. In the next dialog box that displays, click Add.
  2. In the next dialog box, enter an ID to identify this comment . You can use numbers and/or letters, up to eight digits. Then click OK.

  1. In the next dialog box, type your comment. Press Control-Enter to move to the next line. The comments can be any length. When finished, click OK.

  1. When the original dialog box re-displays, click Add to add another comment, or click OK to exit. You can also edit or delete existing records.

If you want certain comments to default to internal rather than external, set option 7730 "Non-printing (Internal) comment identifier" to ,, (two commas). Then in  “Maintain POS Comments” (as shown above), prefix all comments you want to default to internal with the two commas.
