Receiving RDC Balances

Introduction

Receiving RDC Balances

Introduction

If you have the True Value Electronic Catalog, you can electronically receive the quantities available for items in your regional distribution center (RDC). You will also receive quantities available for hub items, central ship items, and True Value Manufacturing (RDC #61) information.

RDC balances are updated late each day by True Value, which means you can receive current quantities on a daily basis (note: RDC balances do not take into account back orders or ship laters). Therefore, Epicor suggests you schedule the transmission to run in a daily queue.

The RDC balances that are downloaded to your system will display in the Item Detail Screen of the Electronic Catalog, and in the Purchasing and Receiving window.  Also, an asterisk displays on the Item Browse Screen of the Catalog if the item is not stocked in your RDC.

This procedure assumes you have already completed telecommunications setup.

  1. From the Eagle Browser, click True Value Telecommunications Menu, then click Receive RDC Balances (ERDC). The Electronic RDC Balances Transmission report window displays.

  2. In the Control Stream box, leave the default of COTRDC.

Multistore: If all your stores don't order from the same RDC, enter the control stream that was created for your store. For example, if you are Store 2 your control stream might be called COTRDC2.

  1. Click Run. The system calls True Value and picks up the RDC balances. The transmission takes a few minutes. Click here for information about verifying that the transmission was successful.
