The following explains the changes to Epicor Eagle™ System Management for Windows on level 25.1097.50 (Eagle for Windows level 12.1159.80). For additional information about a particular enhancement listed below, click on the blue underlined text associated with it. To return to this page, click the Back button.
A new management tool, "Active Eagle Functions Viewer," lists all active Eagle terminals and what applications are running on those terminals. It also provides usage information like who is signed on to a particular terminal, how long users have been idle (no activity on the terminal), what operating system your PCs are running, etc. If desired, you can terminate functions on the Epicor Eagle™ system from this viewer. To access the Active Eagle Functions viewer, click on the System Management Menu from the Eagle Browser, and then select "Active Eagle Functions (SHOWTASK)."The system keeps usage history from this viewer based on the number you enter in the option "# of days to keep usage history for Eagle Functions" in Options Configuration.
The following new/modified security bits are now available:
Bit 69— This existing bit, which allows saved documents to be deleted in POS, has been broadened to also control the ability to delete suspended transactions and layaways.
Bit 658— Controls access to legacy functions IMU and LOD if you have Eagle for Windows Inventory.
Bit 665— Allows you to View/Add/Change/Delete Bill of Materials.
Bit 666— Allows you to access the Eagle Browser Utilities Menu.
Bit 673— Allows you to change an item’s "ROP Protect" flag using the "Misc" menu option R in Inventory Maintenance. If you have this bit, the Misc menu will display Option R. Without this bit, it will not display Option R. This bit was designed to allow an employee who changes Order Points on the Stocking tab to also change the ROP Protect flag without having to give him/her access to the Codes tab (where the ROP Protect flag resides).
Bit 674— Allows you to use the Change button in Eagle Alerts.
Bit 687— Allows you to delete Eagle Reminders (Alerts) from the file (as opposed to using Delete to move reminders from "current" to "historical").
Bit 693— Allows you to terminate an application from the Activity Viewer. The activity viewer is a management tool that lists the terminals in use, the store each terminal is locked into (if a multistore system), what applications are running on those terminals, and how long users have been idle (no activity on the terminal).
When you click Options Configuration from the Eagle Browser, you now get a sub-menu of choices to help you narrow down what will display in the Options Configuration window. The first choice on the sub-menu is simply "Options Configuration," which works the same as it always has. The other choices represent subsets of Options. For example, one of the sub-menu choices is "Point of Sale Options." If you click on this selection, ONLY the POS options display in the Options Configuration grid. For this release, the new sub-menu choices include:
New Options added on Level 11
New Options added on Level 12
Point of Sale Options
Document Management Options
Alert Options
The options used to maintain your range of invoice and journal numbers have been moved. They are now found in the Misc Menu of Options Configuration, selection 8 "Change POS Document # Ranges." They were moved because the Options grid can’t support the inter-field validations necessary to properly define these ranges (for example, the ’from’ journal number can’t be greater than the ’to’ journal number). If you have a multi-store system, you will first be asked to enter the store because these ranges are kept by store.
Multi-store users can now change the lockin store from the Eagle Browser. Simply click the new "Store" button on the toolbar, and in the "Change Lockin Store" dialog box that displays, type the store number and press Enter. Alternatively, you can use the keystrokes Control-S to access the "Change Lockin Store" dialog box. Note: users must have security bits 8 and 9 to be able to change the lockin store, just as they always have.
