User Codes: Assigning Codes to Inventory Items

This topic explains how to work with user codes that you have set up as pre-defined choices. Once you have finished setting up user codes, you can assign codes to items in Inventory Maintenance, or you can simply view codes' current values. Note that you can also use Item Code Update (RICU) to assign user codes to items. This procedure shows how to assign codes in Inventory Maintenance.

You are not limited to defining user codes, and then selecting a pre-defined choice. You can always enter a value of your own in any user code field for an item. If you do this, you might want to keep a written note of what the user code means, since you are not storing this information in Eagle.

  1. In Inventory Maintenance, display the SKU for which you want to change or view User Codes.
  2. Click the hyperlink for the bank of user codes you want to assign or view (User Codes or Expanded Codes A, B, C, or D).

  1. Use the drop-down next to the desired code to view or select a code. Note that if you know the value you want to enter, you can change a user code by clicking into that user code, typing the value, and pressing Change; you don’t have to click the hyperlink for the field in order to make changes.

  1. Once you have made your selections, click OK to close the dialog.

  1. Click Change to save the code(s) you applied.
