Use the following procedure to import prices from Random Lengths. This procedure assumes you have already cross-referenced tags to items in your inventory. When you import prices, a price change record is generated for the items to which you've assigned a tag.
Click , then click Random Lengths. If the Random Length Publications dialog displays, click OK to close it.
In the Random Lengths dialog box, click Random Length Import, then click Import Prices. The Select Random Lengths File dialog displays.
Locate the file in which you saved the Random Lengths files. For example, you may have saved them in C:\My Documents\RandomLengths.
Double-click on the price file, and click Open. The Select Random Length Tag ID dialog box displays.
In the Tag field, click the arrow and select the tag for which you want to add price changes, or select ALL to add price changes for all tags.
Click OK. The price changes display in the grid.
Click to update the Item Price Change window. The new cost is placed in the appropriate field, based on how you filled in the option "Random Length Destination Price."
Now that the new costs are in the price change file, you can use the features of the Item Price Change window. For example, you might want to calculate a new retail price for the items based on the new costs. Click here for more information.
Important: as with all price changes in the Item Price Changes window, the prices don't take effect until you finalize them by running the Price Change Report (RPC) with Option F.
