Enabling Features

A list of check boxes under the General Tab of the LaserCat User Setup utility lets you select which licensed features you want to be available for the current user.  

1. Start User Setup.

   Double-click the LaserCat 3 User Setup Icon on the desktop.

   If you do not have the icon on your desktop, contact your System Administrator.

2. Select which user profile to edit.

   The first screen in the User Setup program lets you choose which user profile to edit.  You can

   • Set default options for new users.

     Click Set Defaults for New Users. Click Continue.

      

   • Change default options for all users.

     Click Change Default for All Users. Click Continue.

      

      

      

   • Set options for a specific user.

     Click Set Options for User. Click the drop-down box arrow. Click the user profile you want to edit.  For example, fred.smith. Click Continue.

     The Set Options for USERNAME screen opens.

      

3. Open the General tab.

4. Set or clear the features as you want.

   Clearing one of the Feature check boxes will remove that feature from the LaserCat 3 display for the current user profile.

    

5. Make any other edits to the user profile.

6. Click OK.

7. Click Exit.

8. Restart the LaserCat 3 application.

Example Results

You must restart the LaserCat 3 application in order for the changes to take effect.  If you are setting options for another user, you must inform that user to restart the application.  Otherwise, the user will not see the changes.
