Item Images/URLs Overview

You can add your own item images to the system, which will display in several applications. If you have a vendor catalog on your system (Ace, Do it Best Corp., True Value, Orgill, or Handy), the images display in the vendor's catalog, IN PLACE OF any vendor-supplied images. If you have Catalog Import Tool, the images display in the appropriate catalog you created. The images also display in Inventory Maintenance (on the Stocking tab) and in the Inventory Viewer (when you display an item), even if you don't have any type of catalog on your system.

In addition to images, you can also add URLs that display under the image. You can even create a URL for an item that doesn't have an image; the URL still displays, even though the words "no image" display where the image would normally be.

No Catalogs on Your System

(If you have a catalog(s) on your system, see "One or More Catalogs on Your System," below.)

When there is no catalog on your system, images and URLs must be saved to a folder in one of the following image directories, depending on whether you use the Stand-Alone or the Network Master/Client method when you install Eagle for Windows:

When there is no catalog on your system, use the appropriate image directory shown below, depending on whether you use the Stand-Alone or the Network Master/Client method when you install Eagle for Windows:

"y" represents the alphanumeric values of 1 thru 9 and A thru Z, used to denote a subfolder. Image/URL files are kept in these subfolders based on the first character of the SKU. For example, all items whose SKU begins with 1 are stored in subfolder 1, those starting with a 2 are stored in subfolder 2, and so on.

One or More Catalogs on Your System

If you have one or more catalogs, use the appropriate image directory shown below, depending on whether you use the Stand-Alone or the Network Master/Client method when you install Eagle for Windows:

"xxx" represents the catalog name such as ACE, COT, DIB, HAN, or ORG; or, if you've created catalogs with Catalog Import Tool, the xxx represents WT1, WT2, WT3, WT4, or WT5. "y" represents the alpha-numeric values of 1 through 9 and A through Z, used to denote a subfolder. Image/URL files are kept in these subfolders based on the first character of the SKU.

y represents the alphanumeric values of 1 thru 9 and A thru Z, used to denote a subfolder.  Image/URL files are kept in these subfolders based on the first character of the SKU. For example, all items whose SKU begins with 1 are stored in subfolder 1, those starting with a 2 are stored in subfolder 2, and so on.

Note: When one or more catalogs are loaded on a system, and option ID 2602 "Catalog 'image set' support for multiple catalogs" is set to use a Single image set, only the default catalog from MTCC will be used for all images in Windows Inventory Maintenance.

Image Files/URLs

Images must be named xxxxxx.jpg or xxxxxx.gif, and URLs must be named xxxxxx (xxxxxx = the SKU to which you want to associate the image or URL).

For example, suppose you want to store an image for SKU AH-9876 for the Ace catalog where there are multiple catalogs on the system. You would save an image file named AH-9876.jpg or an image file named AH-9876.gif to the C:\3apps\UserData\CatImages\ACE\A directory on a stand alone installation, or to the C:\3net\UserData\CatImages\ACE\A directory on a network master installation.

Note: The Catalog Image ID field in Vendor Maintenance must be populated for the primary vendor assigned to the SKU in Inventory Maintenance. When the Catalog Image ID field is empty, or a primary vendor has not been assigned to the SKU in Inventory Maintenance, only the default catalog will be searched for an image.
