Creating and Saving Views

A view is a saved setting that displays selected columns of item information on a grid. You can modify an existing view and save that view.

Creating and Saving Views

  1. Open the viewer you want to work with (Inventory Viewer, Customer Viewer, etc.).

  2. (Optional) If you want to modify a view you previously saved, display the existing view. Click here for the Opening Views procedure.

  3. Modify the view columns to create the view you want to save. Click here for the working with view columns procedure.

  4. From the File menu, click Save View.

  5. If the Save How Much window displays, select one of the save options and click OK.

    1. Grid Layout Only. This option saves only the grid characteristics (such as column arrangements, column formats and widths) and the grid style and size (including inserted columns and hidden columns).

    2. Grid Filters/Sort/Layout.  This option saves the grid characteristics and grid style and size (the same as the Grid Layout Only option).  In addition, any sorting and/or filters are also saved.  If you set the refresh setting, that setting is also saved.

    3. Lookup and Grid Layout. This option saves the grid characteristics and grid style and size (the same as the Grid Layout Only option). In addition, the lookup method is also saved.

    4. Layout, Lookup, Filters/Sort. This option saves all the view information.  If you set the refresh setting, that setting is also saved.

In Purchasing and Receiving, on the Posting or Receiving screen, if you save more than just the grid layout (in other words, you select b, c, or d in the above list), the sorts/filters are applied immediately. However, if you add, change, or delete an item, the system will NOT immediately update the sorts, filters, or inserted columns accordingly; you must go back to the PO Header screen and re-display the PO and press F11 to reload the grid in order to see the updates.

  1. In the Save View window, type the name for the view in the Desc box.

Overwriting the default views is not recommended.

  1. Click Save.
