Training Mode: Limitations

This topic discusses limitations that you should be aware of when working with the Training Mode.

Training Mode Restrictions

While in Training Mode, most of the applications are available. However, some cannot be accessed, for example, most of the telecom applications. A message displays at the bottom of the Eagle Browser window if you attempt to access an application that is not allowed in Training Mode.

Training Mode and Live Mode

While working with the applications in Training Mode, you have available a copy of your live mode data. A key point to remember is that whatever work you do in the Training Mode does not copy into the live mode data. Here are some examples:

The reverse is also true— After you've done an Install or Refresh of the Training Mode, whatever you do in live mode is not copied into the Training Mode. The following are some examples of this:

As illustrated by the previous examples, Training Mode data files are not automatically updated to match your live data. However, you can Refresh the Training Mode data files as often as you like. A Refresh places a copy of your current live data into the Training Mode data files.

Data Not Copied

The data for the following applications is not copied from the live mode to the Training Mode. However, the applications are available in the Training Mode (if they were available in Live Mode) and you can add data to these applications if you work with them in Training Mode.

Installing New Software

If you install new software on your system (Newsoft) and the install completes an Advance, then the Training Mode data files are removed. Any work that you have done in the Training Mode is erased. To use the Training Mode after installing software that includes an Advance, install the Training Mode again.

Network Access

When a terminal is in Training Mode, you can't start Network Access/Secure Access from the Eagle Browser. However, you can start Network Access/Secure Access from a desktop icon or from the Windows Start menu. If you start Network Access/Secure Access this way and then login in as M, that Network Access/Secure Access window is not in Training Mode, it is in live mode.
