Adding/Modifying Delivery Instructions in POS

If you have set up the Delivery Instructions feature, where you enter delivery instructions for customers in Customer Maintenance on the Notes tab (note type 24), the delivery instructions print on the customer's invoice automatically. However, there may be times when you want to add delivery instructions to a transaction for a customer who doesn’t have them pre-defined in Customer Maintenance. Also there may be times when delivery instructions exist for a customer, but you need to modify them, or perhaps not print them at all. Use the procedure below to add or modify delivery instructions in POS.

This procedure applies to Invoices, Credit Memos, Orders, Special Orders, and Estimates.

  1. If the transaction is a saved transaction (Order, Special Order, or Estimate), display the saved transaction.

  2. From the posting screen, with your cursor in the Customer field, press Menu (- on the keypad), and select 6-Enter Document Notes or Delivery Instructions.

  3. In the dialog box that displays, select the Delivery Instructions button.

  4. Do one of the following:

  5. If this is a customer without delivery instructions, type them in the box and press Enter.

  6. If this is a customer with delivery instructions and you want to edit them, click in the box, and edit as desired. If you want to clear existing instructions, select None.
