About the Daily Journal Report

Use the Daily Journal Report RDJ to:

Note: Balance forward transactions (at the end of each month, the system creates them for balance forward accounts) do not print on this report because the system has already finalized the transactions that make up the balance forward transactions.

Run the Daily Journal Report with option F as part of your end-of-day queue every day. This ensures that your tax records and salesperson records are up-to-date.

General ledger users: The system passes off information based on the Passoff Method field in Function MCT (A/R Control File Maintenance), Screen 4.

Printing the Daily Journal Report

  1. From the Eagle Browser, click Reports, Accounts Receivable Reports, Daily Journal Report (RDJ).  The Daily Journal Report window displays.

  2. If you have set up a Default Report Profile for this report, you can simply click Run to use the defaults.  Or, you can retrieve a saved report, make any necessary changes, and click Run.  Otherwise, continue with the next step.

  3. From the Print Setup page, review the default entries in the fields and make changes if needed.  For a definition of each field, click here.

  4. Click . In the Options field, click in the box to the left of the options you want.  For a definition of each option, click here.

Option F finalizes transactions, and is typically selected as part of your end-of-day processing, unless option F is run in combination with another option, such as options F and S to finalize finance charges. Before selecting option F by itself during the business day, make sure you understand the implications of finalizing all transactions.
