Setting Up Coverages Manually

Use the Setup Coverages dialog box in the Supplier Maintenance Wizard to manually set up coverages for specific manufacturers. An important part of customizing coverages is part ranking: setting priorities for parts.

Part ranking lets you quickly locate the parts you want when you do a lookup.

Why part ranking is important

To manually set up coverages for a manufacturer, do the following:

1. Open the Setup Coverages dialog box.

   1. In the Select Supplier dialog box of the Supplier Maintenance Wizard, click the Add/Modify coverage list manually option button.

      

   2. Click Next.

   The Setup Coverages dialog box opens.

   

2. Select a manufacturer.

   1. In the Find Manuf. field, type the first few letters of a manufacturer's name. For example, if you want Goodyear, type GO.

      

   2. Click the manufacturer name.

      

   3. Click Edit Manufacturer's Coverage.

   The Manufacturer Edit dialog box opens.

   

3. Select a coverage you want to add to the manufacturer's coverage list.

   1. Use the Up and Down arrow keys to find the coverage you want to edit.

      

   2. Double-click the part listing, or click Edit.

   The Edit Coverage dialog box opens.

   

    

4. Set the part priority from the drop-down list. The default is Pri.#5.

   

5. Assign vehicle makes to the part.

   1. Click Set Vehicles.

      

   Note: The Select Vehicles button is grayed out if you clicked Add instead of Edit to open the Edit Coverage dialog box.

   The Vehicle Coverages dialog box opens.

   

   2. Click Add.

   3. The Select Vehicle Coverage dialog box opens, displaying a list of car makes.

      

   4. Click all the vehicle makes you want to assign to the part.

      Type your drop-down text here.

   5. Click OK.

   Select Vehicle Coverage displays a list of priorities.

   

6. Assign vehicle priorities to the part.

   1. Click the priority you want to assign to the part.

      

   2. Click OK.

   The Vehicle Coverages dialog box displays the vehicle makes you added.

   

   3. Click OK to close Vehicle Coverages.

   4. Click OK to close Edit Coverage.

      

   The Manufacturer Edit dialog box shows the added part in boldface.

   

7. Do one of the following:

1. • Click Next to go to the Category/Group Select dialog box.

   • Click Finish to close the Supplier Maintenance Wizard.
