The classic Eagle POS setup functions (such as Functions MIV and MTR) and the security system (security bits and clerk names) also apply to Epicor Eagle™ for Windows. In addition, new Eagle POS also has its own setup features that you will need to review and customize to your business needs.
The following are the major differences from original Eagle POS.
The Big Header Screen has been renamed the Header Screen.
The Mini-Header Screen is now known as the Customer Area on the Posting Screen.
The Change Decisions Window is now known as the Totals Menu and is accessed by pressing the menu key.
The Inquiry Mode Window on the Posting Screen is now known as the Posting Menu and is accessed by pressing the menu key.
The Inquiry Mode Window on the Big Header Screen is now know as the Header Menu and is accessed by pressing the menu key.
The traditional keys used to invoke commands such as next or prev, as well as new commands, are now customizable and therefore may differ from terminal to terminal.
The NEXT SCREEN key has been replaced by the header and post keys. On the Posting Screen, press HEADER to access the Header Screen. On the Header Screen, press POST to access the Posting Screen.
The No Sale key has been replaced by the menu key. The menu key also incorporates all the windows previously found on the original Eagle POS.
The CHARGE key has been replaced by the customer key. Press CUSTOMER to access the Customer Area and enter a customer or job number.
The query key has been replaced by the MFG LU (Manufacturer Lookup) key.
Inventory Viewer— Instead of using QuickView to look up item information, you will now use the Inventory Viewer.
Lookup by description— You can now enter an item description on the POS Posting screen (in the Desc box) and search for that item. The system searches the Description field in Function IMU, the Short Description, and Function MED (Message Types 1 and 3). In order to use this feature, you must first run Function BDI to create description indexes. For more information about Function BDI, refer to online help when the Function BDI screen is displayed.
Customer Viewer— Instead of using QuickAccount to look up customer information, you will use the Customer Viewer.
Customer box¾In addition to entering a customer’s account number in the Customer box, you can now also enter a phone number or the Sort Name to look up an account.
A new No Sale option is available, Paid In. A Paid In allows you to enter an amount that you are putting in the cash drawer and indicate a reason.
Transaction reversals are no longer completed in QuickRecall. You now complete a reverse transaction through the No Sale Menu.
