POS Enhancements
- The existing “Subtotals on Invoices” capability which allows printing subtotals by department, or class, or fineline for POS transactions, has been enhanced to allow you to select which transaction types will include subtotals, and you can now print subtotals for not only dollars but also units and/or weight.
-
- Enhancement to the Deposit Activity Viewer -- the system now records the bankcard, in the form of a token, used to pay for a deposit in 3 new columns:
-
- Bankcard Used – token for the bankcard
- Bankcard Type – the type of card
- Bankcard Exp – expiration MM/YY
- Refunds can now be credited to the original bankcard used for the sale – The new E4W option 9439 "Refund using same bankcard when original payment is prepaid deposit" can be used to issue the credit for a customer refund to the original credit card which paid for the deposit.
- New License Information in the Customer Returns Viewer – if you are using Flexible Consumer Information collection at Point Of Sale (Option 1498 "Flexible Consumer Information collection enabled?" is set to Yes), there are 2 new columns in this viewer populated for the DL and license issuer (i.e. State) entered in the Flexible Consumer Information dialog which comes up in totals for returns.
-
- Driver’s License
- Issuer ID
- The Customer Number is now recorded in the serial number field when using Dynamic Coupons – if you are using Dynamic Coupon’s (Option 9871 "Dynamic Coupons on System" is set to Yes), serialized coupons will now include the customer the coupon was issued to. For coupons which are serialized, the system now records the customer number along with the serial number at the time the coupon is issued and printed in POS. When looking at the available serial numbers in Inventory Maintenance's "Serial Number Maintenance" you will see the customer’s account number in the new column “Coupon Customer”.
- Loyalty ID Number can now be entered/changed in Point of Sale's Customer QuickAdd. Previously this was display-only. (Do It Best Rewards loyalty users)
- New Header Level field Post Components at POS – A new flag has been added in Modify Bill of Materials called "Post Components at POS". When this flag is checked in Modify Bill of Materials, and the Bill of Materials is posted into Point of Sale from the Bill of Materials Posting window, the components will post as normal skus into the body of the transaction instead of the single header Bill of Materials sku.
- Enhancement to Tax Free Holiday – This feature has been enhanced to support states where clothing/footwear is tax exempt on a portion of the selling price and taxable on the amount over that threshold. Currently, there are two states with this type of exemption: Massachusetts and Rhode Island
- Modification to feature "Adding, Viewing, and Modifying Notes on Saved Transactions" – Entering document notes or delivery instructions on a saved POS transaction has been changed to archive the note into the invoice archive once the order has been fully invoiced. Previously once the order (or special order) was fully invoiced, you could no longer refer back to the note – it was not saved.
- Enhancement to "Service & Repair" – For users who have option 1093 "Service and Repair on System" set to 'Yes', and option 9242 "Field Label for Service Order Identifier" set to 'S' (serial number) you can now change the service order's serial number after the order has been created.
- New E4W Option 1626 "Price override policy used in Point of Sale" gives you an alternative method for controlling a clerk's flexibility when overriding an item's price in Point of Sale. If your business profile is such that using promotion prices is not always practical, then this method may be a good fit for you. To learn more contact your Epicor representative to arrange a review with a senior business consultant.
-
- Option 1 -- Minimum GP %
- Option 2 -- Maximum $'s Off -- the price override will be allowed in the $'s off the normal selling price does not exceed one of the two maximum $'s off
- Point of Sale 'Special Fee' Enhancement – Special Fee can now be set up so that it will not be applied for certain transaction types such as Transfers. To set up a transaction type exclusion for an existing special fee in Inventory Maintenance (IMU), click on the Special Fee Code hyperlink on the Misc tab. Select the code and click <Change>. Use 'Do Not Apply On' to check the transaction types you do not want that special fee to be applied to and click <OK> to save the change.
- Charitable Donations – As more consumers move to electronic payments, the idea of dropping change into a donation jar at the register is fading. Consumers and retailers want to make donations to charities at the point of purchase. Incorporating a “roundup” or “donate a dollar” feature into their Eagle will reduce overhead for retailers and increase charitable donations.
- New Option 9134 “Immediately Post when item's UPC is scanned?” allows you to configure POS to immediately post the item when it is scanned if you are using the existing option 9133 “Increment posting quantity by UPC package quantity?”
- Ace Retailers – For stores that are participating in the Ace Customer Segmentation program and have option 1611 “Prompt for Ace customer segment type in MCR?” set to "Y": When adding a customer in POS using Customer QuickAdd, after entering all customer info such as name, address, etc., and clicking on "OK", the cashier will be prompted to choose if the customer is a business. If they are a business, the cashier chooses "Y"; otherwise they choose "N".
- EMV Card Support — These are smart cards (also called chip cards or IC cards) which store their data on integrated circuits rather than magnetic stripes ( although many EMV cards also have stripes for backward compatibility). For more information, visit www.epicor.com/emv

- RPI – Laser Count Sheets can be printed. The benefits of the laser count sheets over the existing count sheets are:
-
- Prints UPC Barcode – if an item doesn’t have a UPC, the barcode representation of the sku will print.
